LaKeisha Dodson is a visionary and innovator who empowers the voiceless and underserved. She was born and raised in the heart of Baltimore City, Maryland, and is recognized for her exemplary background in military leadership, complemented by her steadfast dedication to education and community engagement.
LaKeisha's 12 years of active-duty service in the U.S. Army exemplify her profound leadership experience and steadfast dedication to serving her country. During her remarkable tenure, she achieved the esteemed rank of Captain, showcasing her exceptional skills and capability to lead in high-pressure environments. A particularly notable highlight of her career was her service as a paratrooper in the illustrious 82nd Airborne Division. This elite designation not only reflects her courage and resilience but also underscores her commitment to excellence and her ability to rise to any challenge.
As the co-owner of A & Key Properties LLC, LaKeisha has skillfully expanded her real estate investing company, establishing a solid presence with properties in several states, including North Carolina, Texas, and Maryland. Her entrepreneurial spirit and astute business acumen have been instrumental in building a reputable, thriving real estate company.
Currently, LaKeisha is pursuing a Doctor of Education in Community Care and Counseling, with a focus on Marriage and Family Counseling from Liberty University, demonstrating her ongoing commitment to professional growth and community impact. She is also the founder of Another Chance Initiative Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to helping justice-involved individuals successfully reintegrate into society. Her continuous effort to serve others and create pathways to opportunity will always remain her top priorities.
Her academic achievements include an Honorary Doctorate in Humanitarianism, a Master of Arts in Human Resources Management, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and a Certificate in Government Procurement and Contracting, reflecting her broad expertise and commitment to continuous development and lifelong learning.
LaKeisha loves serving the community by volunteering with the Cumberland County Veterans Treatment Court and the Women Veterans Interactive Fayetteville Chapter. She is a member of Visionary Christian Life Center in Lumberton, North Carolina, alongside her wonderful husband, CW2 (Retired) Adam J. Dodson Sr. Together, they take pride in raising their son, Adam J. Dodson Jr., and daughter, Alesia Dodson.
